How to Drive a Go-Kart at Mt. Fuji — What to Expect & What to Bring

Our go-karts are 100% electric and street-legal, so you drive them on real roads around Lake Kawaguchiko with Mt. Fuji in view — quietly, with zero emissions. Here's how the experience works, and the one thing to sort out before you travel.

What the experience is like

It's a guided tour, not a race track. You ride in a small convoy with a guide leading the way along a scenic route by the lake, so you can relax and take in the views instead of worrying about directions.

• Photos included — the guide captures your ride at the best spots, so you leave with great shots.
• Automatic karts, relaxed pace — most guests are first-timers, and the karts are easy and capped at a comfortable speed.
• 100% electric — no engine noise, no exhaust, just the road and the view.

What you need to bring

Because the karts are street-legal, you drive on public roads — so you need a valid driving licence. Bring all three of these on the day:

• Your original national driving licence.
• An International Driving Permit (IDP) — or, for a few countries, an official Japanese translation of your licence instead.
• Your passport.

On the day of your tour

When you arrive at the meeting point, our team checks your licence and IDP (or translation), gives a full safety briefing, and helps you get comfortable with the kart before you head out. If you've never driven a go-kart, you're in good company — most of our guests haven't either.
